Japanese rasha scissors are traditionally used by tailors and anyone working with fabric because of their sharpness, edge retention and durability and traditional heavyweight design and reliability but we love their incredible sharpness and edge retention for a wide range of jobs both in the office here (for cutting packaging materials and such) as well as at home in the house and kitchen.
Unlike Western scissors, the rasha scissors are made of a mix of softer steel and a much harder steel on the edge as well as steel handles to make a product designed to last a lifetime.
The rasha scissors are supplied with a small bottle of lubricating/protective oil.
Care note: These are made from carbon steel so if you use them for jobs where you wash them afterwards, you will need to dry properly and can expect the blades to develop a patina.
